Keynote Speaker
Rev. Dr. James R. Wood (PhD, University of Toronto) is Associate Professor of Religion and Theology at Redeemer University (Ancaster, ON) and a teaching elder in the PCA, which he currently serves as a member of the Ad Interim Study Committee on Christian Nationalism. He has forthcoming books on Augustine’s social teachings (Baker, 2026) and Thomas F. Torrance’s ecclesiology (Davenant, 2026). He also cohosts Mere Fidelity (Mere Orthodoxy) and the Civitas podcast (Theopolis), which focuses on political theology with a particular focus on contributing to the postliberal discourse with an ecclesiocentric framing.

Respondent to “Christian Nationalism and the Reformed Tradition”
David T. Koyzis (PhD, University of Notre Dame) is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Redeemer University, and an affiliated scholar with Global Scholars Canada. Dr. Koyzis is the author of Political Visions and Illusions (IVP, 2019), We Answer to Another (Pickwick, 2014), and Citizenship Without Illusions (IVP, 2024).

Respondent to “Critiquing Christian Nationalism”
Kristen Deede Johnson (PhD, University of St. Andrews) is Principal and Helliwell Professor of Theology, Ministry, and Culture at Wycliffe College. She is an award-winning author and her publications include Theology, Political Theory, and Pluralism: Beyond Tolerance and Difference (Cambridge: 2010), The Justice Calling (Brazos, 2017), and “The Theologian” in Uncommon Ground: Living Faithfully in a World of Difference, eds. Timothy Keller et al. (Thomas Nelson, 2020).

Conference Host
Lyndon Jost (PhD, University of Toronto) is the Director of the Reformed House of Studies at Wycliffe College and Associate Pastor of Christ Church Toronto (PCA). He is the author of Transfiguring Headship: A Figural Theology of Gender (Pickwick, 2026).
The conference will be punctuated through the day with “Songs of the Kingdom” led by musician Dan Conway.
Dan Conway (BTh, Trinity Theological College) is Director of Worship at Christ Church Toronto. He was born, raised, and born again in Australia. After completing his studies he worked for seven years in congregational and university ministry in Singapore. He and his family began a new chapter of life in Toronto in early 2025. Prior to conversion Dan was a writing, recording, and performing musician, and now writes regularly at Ploddingham.com.
